The Mothers of Debney Meadows Primary School students came together on the morning of Friday the 20th November for a picnic.
It was a perfect Spring morning with mum’s sitting on picnic rugs in Debney’s park behind the school sharing food, music and conversation.
A group of mothers came into the school the day before to use the school’s kitchen to cook a delicious and diverse feast of East African dishes. After months of lockdown and not being able to come together as a school community, the picnic was a celebration of reopening and connection. Mother’s ate and chatted about what their name meant in their language. Once the food was finished the dancing began!
We are thrilled to see the school community coming back together again and cannot wait for 2021 and the many opportunities for parents it holds!
